In 2008, IT in Financial Services is challenged more than ever to support the business as it reacts to rapidly changing market conditions. As over the last few years the financial services industry has become more complex and interconnected, IT has focused on integration across business silos and with counter-parties, service providers, exchanges and regulators. Service Oriented Architecture promises to meet these challenges but must first be adapted and augmented to reflect the specific requirements of Financial Services.
The nature of the financial markets in particular means that the IT infrastructure must be capable of rolling out new business services and processes and ever more complex financial products as cheaply and quickly as possible. However, the financial services industry also has unique regulatory requirements and heightened sensitivity to operational risk. Therefore, SOA must be applied in a way capable of supporting rapid develop of new solutions in a disciplined, cost-efficient manner within this risk aware environment. The deployed systems must also be carefully monitored to identify unexpected trends or anomalous events and the business alerted in time to react.
To achieve these goals requires SOA to be augmented by diverse technologies from Business Process Management to Complex Event Processing all within the context of a considered approach to SOA governance. Join this webcast and learn about real-world challenges can be addressed with a Service Oriented Architecture.
