Featured Speaker Bios:
Anne Thomas Manes is a former Chief Technology Officer at Systinet, a web services infrastructure vendor. She was the Director of Market Innovation in Sun Microsystem's software group. Manes' 26-year industry background also includes field service and education at IBM Corporation, customer education at Cullinet Software, product management at Digital Equipment Corporation, chief architect at Open Environment Corporation, and research analyst with Patricia Seybold Group.
She was named one of the 50 most powerful people in networking in 2002 by Network World. He has also been listed among the "Power 100 IT Leaders," by Enterprise Systems Journal. A frequent speaker at trade shows and conferences, she authors numerous articles in trade publications. Anne Manes is a member of the Web Services Journal editorial board. She authored "Web Services: A Manager's Guide," published by Addison-Wesley, 2003, and participated in web services standards development efforts at W3C, OASIS, WS-I, and JCP.
Kelly Emo, Director of SOA software product marketing at Hewlett-Packard is a seasoned executive with many years experience in high-tech, mostly in software infrastructure and networking technology areas with a focus on product management, business development and product marketing. Her first several years were with Hewlett-Packard focused on product management and strategy around HP-UX networking technologies, distributed computing middleware, network and systems management and application development tools. Kelly helped to launch the HP Enterprise Java program owning product management for Java for HP-UX and also took a break from product management and planning for a few years to manage corporate communications for HP OpenView and HP Telecommunications in the early '90's. Following her initial career with HP, in the "dot-com" days of the year 2000, Kelly joined a newly funded startup in the Software as a Service space as Director of Business Development and later moving into the role of Director of Marketing at Jamcracker, Inc. For the last four years, Kelly has worked at BEA Systems, responsible for launching BEA's Enterprise Service Bus and more recently as Director of Integration Product Marketing, spanning integration technologies including EAI, ESB and BPM. Kelly has a B.S. in computer science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and a M.B.A. from University of Santa Clara.
