Featured Speaker Bios:

Daryl Plummer is a group vice president and Chief Gartner Fellow. He manages the Emerging Trends group in Gartner and is a primary analyst in software infrastructure. He is responsible for research in Internet platforms and Web services, applications development, application integration and middleware, emerging trends and technologies, and enterprise architecture. Mr. Plummer also manages the Gartner Fellows program, which is designed to allow senior analysts the opportunity to explore new research ideas and to elevate the Gartner culture and brand with clients.

Mr. Plummer has been with Gartner for 10 years, and he has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Plummer was division director and technology coordinator for the State of Florida's Department of Management Services. Mr. Plummer was also data center director of the Technology Resource Center, one of the largest data centers in Florida. In this capacity, he managed the introduction of statewide client/server systems and methodologies. He was instrumental in the creation of the state's TCP/IP network and designed and implemented the Florida Communities Network - Florida's economic Internet presence. Mr. Plummer graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering Technology, and a Masters of Science in Computer Science, each from Florida State University.

Paul Butterworth was the Chief Technology Officer for Forte Tools at Sun. He was responsible for the technical strategy for the Sun developer tools products. As a founder of Forte Software, Paul was the chief architect and senior vice president of Engineering and Customer Services. Before founding Forte, Paul served as chief architect and director of Product Engineering at Ingres Corporation. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Information and Computer Science from University of California at Irvine.

Jean Francois Abramatic is ILOG's chief product officer. He is responsible for product vision and strategy; product design and development; and product marketing and management. Abramatic oversees every element of how products are defined, developed, engineered, brought to market and maintained.

A former ILOG board member, Abramatic has more than 30 years of research-and-development experience in a broad range of academic and industrial disciplines. In his current role he spearheads ILOG's product division, directing an international team of scientists, product managers and software engineers located in France and the United States.

Dr. Peter Kuerpick, born in 1966, joined Software AG in April 2005, and in his role is responsible for crossvision (Business Lines, Research & Development and BPM).

Before coming to Software AG, he was Senior Vice President Server Technology at SAP and as such was responsible for major parts of the SAP Netweaver stack, which is the foundation of all SAP applications. At the beginning of 2000 he acted as Executive Board Assistant, during which time he worked out of Palo Alto, New York and Germany for Prof. Dr. Hasso Plattner, former CEO and co-founder of SAP. Dr. Kuerpick started his career in IT in 1998, joining SAP as a software developer.

Dr. Kuerpick earned a Diploma in Physics focusing on theoretical physics / supercomputer topics in 1989 and a PhD in theoretical physics in 1993. From 1995 to1997 he did his postdoctorate in the United States, working at the University of California at Berkley, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Kansas State University, and the Oak Ridge National Laboratories, Tennessee.
