Featured Speaker Bios:

Denis Mathias is a partner with IBM Business Consulting Services in San Jose, California, focusing on the Electronics Industry. Prior to joining IBM, Denis was a Partner with PwC Consulting, with over twenty years experience in global business transformation projects for the U.S. and Japanese High Tech multinationals. He has spoken and written extensively on global transformation of High Tech companies.

Andrew Bartels - As part of Forrester's Industry Economics & Data research team, Andy's current research focus includes industry perspectives on technology. He researches the issues, challenges, trends, and opportunities for different industries in the use of technologies. This covers IT budgets, industry technology spending trends, eGovernment, and key IT issues for high-tech companies, banks, utility companies, and retailers. Andy also examines eCommerce trends, forecasts, and technologies such as business-to-business and business-to-consumer eCommerce trends, commerce servers, partner relationship management products, eProcurement systems, Internet payment products and services, and smart cards.

Andy has extensive experience in the eBusiness market and in strategic planning, both as an analyst and as a practitioner in the business world. Andy came to Forrester through its acquisition of Giga Information Group. Prior to joining Giga, Andy held a variety of vice president positions at American Express in the chairman's office, technologies, strategic planning, and re-engineering. Most recently, he was head of the Electronic Commerce Center of Excellence at American Express, covering Internet and smart card development, technology strategy, and standards.

Andy earned a B.A. in philosophy from Haverford College and a Ph.D. in history from Johns Hopkins University.

Bob Werkema is Sales Executive on IBM's Worldwide WebSphere Commerce Solutions team. Working closely with IBM teams, Industry Analysts and customers worldwide, Bob is responsible for developing and delivering IBM product strategies and customer focused WebSphere Commerce solutions. His immediately prior position was as Product manager for the WebSphere Commerce Product line, where he set product direction and worked to ensure product and market leadership positions.

Based in Chicago, Bob has helped drive IBM’s e-commerce solutions for the past three years. Prior to joining IBM Software Group, he was Director of Technical Sales Engineering for SAP, working with Fortune 500 customer to shape their evaluation and use of SAP solutions.

Bob has substantial enterprise systems experience, including ERP, E-commerce and legacy system integration. Integrating existing systems into customer facing solutions is a key focus for him and the IBM team.

Bob's twenty-five years of IT industry experience includes management, marketing, direct sales, product management, technical sales and sales strategy.
