Featured Speaker Bios:
Mike Gilpin is a vice president, covering software infrastructure for enterprise application development, integration, and deployment. His current primary research focus is on customer usage experiences and broad industry trends for Java and J2EE application platforms, Web services technologies, and service-oriented platforms, including Microsoft .NET and other emerging application platforms. Mike focuses on industry-leading compnies including IBM, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, and BEA Systems.
Mike is also research director of the Application Development & Infrastructure research team, which comprises a dozen analysts focused on development and integration tools, application platforms, and related subject areas in effective processes and management of application development and integration within IT.
Mike came to Forrester through its acquisition of Giga Information Group. In his 22 years of hands-on experience with IT, Mike spent 16 years as a senior manager in the software development field. Prior to joining Giga, he was vice president of strategic technology at Intersolv, a leading global vendor of application development tools. He also led the creation and launch of multiple advanced application development tools at two leading application development vendors, LBMS and Intersolv.
Mike has spoken at numerous industry conferences -- he has chaired GigaWorld for three years running in the US and Europe, and also acts as the primary research focal point across all Forrester events. He is quoted frequently in industry publications such as Application Development Trends, CNET (News.com), Computerworld, eWeek, InfoWorld, InformationWeek, and Internet Week, as well as in The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and The New York Times. Mike has spoken at numerous industry conferences, and has been the chairman of GigaWorld IT Forum for three years running – a role that will continue.
Education
Mike earned a B.A. in physics from Rice University.
Kevin Clugage is a Product Director for Oracle Business Integration. He is focused on the go-to-market strategy and execution of Oracle’s middleware family of products for enterprise integration, business process management, and business activity monitoring.
