Featured Speaker Bios:

Erik Frieberg manages the worldwide product marketing of BEA’s build solutions product lines, including BEA WebLogic Server, WebLogic Workshop, WebLogic JRockit and BEA Tuxedo. He is responsible for developing and communicating the value of the BEA approach to application development to both internal and external stakeholders, and optimizing the productivity of BEA’s sales channels for these products. Mr. Frieberg also manages the BEA Workshop Controls & Extensibility program, as well as taking an active role in BEA’s developer marketing activities.

Mr. Frieberg has more than 15 years of industry experience in application servers, development tools, transaction processing and enterprise software. Before joining BEA, he was senior director of worldwide marketing at Escalate, a software vendor that provided multi-channel commerce, order management and supply chain management applications to the consumer product and retail industries. Prior to that, he held senior marketing and product marketing positions at Persistence Software, Netscape Communications and KIVA software. During this period, Mr. Frieberg pioneered application server technology and application middleware. He began his industry career with Oracle, responsible for marketing financial and manufacturing applications.

Mr. Frieberg holds master’s degree in management science from MIT, and a bachelor of science degree from Northwestern University.

Gold-Bernstein is the author of “Enterprise Integration: the Essential Guide to Integrated Solutions,” published in July 2004 by Addison Wesley, and “Designing Enterprise Client/Server Systems,” published in August 1997 by Prentice Hall. Gold Bernstein also co-authored “Integration and SOA: Concepts, Technologies and Best Practices” available as an ebook at: http://www.ebizq.net/soaebook. Prior to joining ebizQ, Gold-Bernstein was the director of business integration technologies at Hurwitz Group from 1995 - 2000. Previously, she was president of IllumiSys Corp. and director of architecture planning and implementation advisory services for DeBoever Architectures. She was also the founder and director of the Boston Computer Society Client/Server Group. Gold-Bernstein holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton and an M.S. in computer information systems from Bentley College.
