Business process management (BPM) is all about tying together disparate automation activities across your organization and across your ecosystem, be it a services or product supply chain, or hybrid of the two. BPM is either very human centric or very straight through in its automating of business process sets but typically combines the two and adds a case-management dimension. The challenges involve choosing the situational BPM applications from the above options that can provide the fastest return on investment. Variations on cloud computing (OnDemand, SaaS, PaaS, and more) can speed development but lead to risks at deployment. In some ecosystems, BPM in the cloud is the only option but what happens if your cloud moves over the horizon. This panel will explore the plusses and minuses of BPM in cloud computing by looking at many of the options users are facing in real life.
