Co-founder Cindy Maike brings clients a wealth of insurance and financial services experience, grounded in the business but reaching deeply into the technology. Maike previously held a variety of leadership positions at IBM and ACORD, where she honed her skills in business architecture, development/standards, global software marketing, business strategy, management consulting, business architecture, and IT strategy. She has also been and continues to be an advocate and active participant in the development of insurance industry business architecture, process modeling, and information standards.
Samir Gulati, Vice President of Marketing Samir Gulati joined Appian in April 2007. Mr. Gulati previously served as Vice President of Global Marketing for Pegasystems, a publicly-traded BPM vendor, where he successfully re-positioned the company as the leader in the rules-driven Business Process Management market by executing an aggressive Brand Leadership program. Most recently, Mr. Gulati was Vice President of Marketing at Apptix, where he was responsible for positioning the company as a premiere provider of on-demand messaging and collaboration solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. Previously, as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at SAGA Software, a spin-off from Software AG, Mr. Gulati was responsible for setting the strategic direction for SAGA. He also led the successful global launch of SAGA's new Enterprise Application Integration product suite -- a key infrastructure technology for enabling integrated eBusiness. Mr. Gulati holds a B.S. in Electronic Engineering, and received his Masters in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
Sfiso Mthethwais a Senior Manager in the Business Process Management practice at SMART Business Advisory and Consulting. He has responsibility for the strategic direction and project delivery of BPM solutions for Insurance industry.
Sfiso leads SMART’s current development of BPM solutions for the insurance market. Through industry events and print media, Sfiso has been active in sharing SMART’s thought leadership in the area of insurance and reinsurance, and the key role BPM plays in that market.
Sfiso brings a solid understanding of information technology architecture and full life cycle application development. He has been an advocate in the appropriate use of Business Process Management, Business Rule technologies and other architectures in over 15 years of enterprise solutions delivery.
Sfiso received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Business Information Systems and Economics from University Of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
