BPEL (Wikipedia)
Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) is a widely used language for designing
and controlling BPM applications. WS-BPEL 2.0, the current version, is thoroughly
explained in terms of history, design goals, evolution and more in this informative
Wikipedia article.
BPMN (Wikipedia)
Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) is another flavor of business process
modeling language. While quite different from BPEL, BPMN is sometimes used as

XPDL

The third of the major BPM languages, XML Process Definition Language (XPDL)
