Scott Thompson has over 11 years of experience in the area of systems architecture and design. Since he started his professional career in 1994, Thompson has had a commitment to improving the value and image of IT within organizations. Prior to coming to H&R Block, he worked in the financial services, medical lab, and telecom industries at some of Kansas City's most reputable corporations. Once arriving at H&R Block Financial Advisors (HRBFA) in 2001, Thompson spent 2 years as architect of HRBFA's executive data mart. The only one of its kind in H&R Block, the data mart provides enterprise class cross service reporting for the Tax, Financial, and Mortgage business units and contains well over 1000 reports. In 2003, Thompson moved on to serve as the only designated SOA architect in HRBFA. His shining achievement as SOA architect was the implementation of last years SOA-based Client Acquisition System (CAS) for routing tax leads to financial advisors. CAS received awards from both InfoWorld and NetworkWorld magazines as being one of the top SOA implementations of 2005.
In his current tenure Thompson serves as the Head of Application Development for H&R Block Financial Advisors (HRBFA) in Kansas City, Missouri. His team of experienced developers and architects focus on improving the productivity of Financial Advisors in more than 250 offices across the country.
