AmberPoint announced today that it has joined the SAP Co-Innovation Lab, where it will work with SAP to provide best practices for integrating its service-oriented architecture (SOA) runtime governance solutions with SAP enterprise services.

AmberPoint said it intends to work with the SAP Co-Innovation Lab team to demonstrate and extend its SOA runtime governance capabilities through new use cases and scenarios. The vendor will also identify and share best practices showing how AmberPoint’s solutions complement SAP solutions.

The SAP Co-Innovation Lab, a hands-on working environment for SAP and customers and partners, was developed to build and execute joint projects. The new joint effort between AmberPoint and SAP is intended to help enterprises implementing services-based applications built on the SAP NetWeaver platform deploy AmberPoint's runtime governance solution. Runtime governance will help enterprises better understand system behavior, manage transactions end-to-end, and implement policies that automate performance management, remedy exceptional conditions and uphold security.

AmberPoint helps brings greater visibility and control to enterprise SOA on SAP NetWeaver, the vendors said. Its SOA runtime governance solutions integrate with SAP NetWeaver Application Server component, its services registry, Web service endpoints to and from the SAP NetWeaver Process Integration offering.

AmberPoint has been working closely with SAP for a number of years. In September 2006, AmberPoint announced a cooperative development agreement with SAP to bring out-of-the-box management capabilities to organizations running Java and ABAP services on SAP NetWeaver. In addition, SAP Ventures has invested in AmberPoint, and SAP and AmberPoint share numerous enterprise customers.
