Gartner clients turn to the Magic Quadrant to help determine which technology providers to consider when evaluating software investments. Vendors are evaluated on 15 different criteria to determine their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

"Leaders," as defined by Gartner, are "vendors that can meet the majority of requirements for most organizations. Not only are they suitable for most enterprises to consider, but they also have a significant effect on the market's direction and growth."

Ninety-five percent of Fortune 1000 companies use SPSS Predictive Analytics technology. SPSS' customer base also includes the top 10 global commercial banks, eight of the top 10 telecommunications providers, 21 of the top 25 retailers worldwide and 24 of the top 25 market research firms.

"SPSS has a 40-year heritage focusing on analyzing data about people. This allows organizations to drive the widespread use of data in their decision making to attract and retain customers, grow revenue, reduce fraud and mitigate risk," said Jack Noonan, SPSS chairman, president and CEO.

"SPSS provides market-leading Predictive Analytics data mining software that gives commercial and government organizations the technology to better understand and predict future customer behavior. We believe Gartner’s Magic Quadrant confirms our market leadership and our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction," Noonan said.

SPSS' data and text mining workbench is a core offering of its Predictive Analytics product family and is used by both commercial and government organizations worldwide to model customers' future behaviors and predict outcomes.

SPSS’ product family also includes market-leading text mining, enterprise feedback management (survey research), statistical analysis tools and compelling visualization for customers to capture, predict and act on the results. SPSS' Predictive Enterprise Services platform provides an infrastructure for managing, sharing and protecting analytical assets; automates and schedules ongoing analytical processes; and ensures analytical results get to the right place and the right people at the right times.

Matt Wroblewski, director of marketing research at Lincoln Financial Distributors, said, "With SPSS Predictive Analytics, we gain a very accurate profile of our financial intermediary customer base and use that knowledge to create more effective marketing and sales campaigns. That valuable insight allows us to be more strategic in our decision making and equally as effective in optimizing our customer interactions throughout their lifecycle across all our product lines."
