“This release enhances Talend Integration Suite to make it more suitable for real-time enterprise projects. This new version makes data integration faster, more scalable and more cost-effective for enterprises,” said Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and COO of Talend. “Talend relies heavily on the quality feedback from our user community for the development of features and components that are in high demand. This latest version of Talend Integration Suite incorporates many of the feature requests and suggestions that have come from our users.”

Talend Integration Suite is a subscription-based service that extends the functionality of Talend’s flagship data integration software, Talend Open Studio, with technical support and additional features for collaboration and deployment in large enterprise settings. Talend Integration Suite also includes new productivity features for developers such as joblets, shared repository, automated deployments and monitoring. With its easy-to-use graphical environment, Talend Integration Suite simplifies development, automates deployment and provides advanced production monitoring. Ramp-up costs as well as ongoing development and maintenance costs are greatly reduced due to the software’s embrace of open standards.

In conjunction with Talend Integration Suite, Talend has also announced the availability of Talend Open Studio version 2.4, which is provided at no cost under a GPL license. Talend Open Studio is a less expensive, open source alternative to commercial, proprietary data integration solutions that require steep initial investment and rely heavily on IT resources for maintenance and upgrades. Talend Open Studio 2.4 now includes the following new features:

Automatic analysis of metadata dependencies – allows the system to immediately identify changes and pinpoint the data integration processes affected by them, guaranteeing consistency between data integration processes and data structures.

Automatic component installation – lets users keep the data integration infrastructure up-to-date at all times through automatic or on-demand installs of new components or connectors from Talend's ecosystem, a community site where components developers can post their components.

New lookup mode – lets users use multi-gigabyte tables as lookup structures without sacrificing performance even as datasets increase.

Talend’s open source enterprise data integration solutions provide comparably featured yet less expensive alternatives to proprietary offerings. The caliber of open source data integration software has quickly caught up to that of commercial industry offerings. With enterprise solutions such as Talend's in the market, large organizations are now more likely to consider open source for their business.
