The IOD Data Loader Service is a bi-directional integration offering that allows Salesforce administrators to automate many Salesforce integration processes such as synchronizing account information with other applications, creating back office orders from closed opportunities, and loading leads. In addition to eliminating manual coding efforts, the IOD Data Loader is entirely web-based, and removes the need for on-premise software or hardware appliances. The announcement was made today at Dreamforce Europe salesforce.com's User and Developer Conference.

"Salesforce.com has demonstrated that a multi-tenant SaaS delivery model provides lower complexity and better economics," said Clarence So, Chief Marketing Officer, salesforce.com. "With the addition of Informatica's On Demand Data Loader for Salesforce to their suite of enterprise data integration tools, salesforce.com customers will have yet another valuable tool to extend the power of on demand throughout their enterprises."

Increased Operational Efficiencies

This new offering is simple and easy-to-use, allowing customers to increase their operational efficiencies by automating many time consuming and error prone integration tasks. The IOD Data Loader extends the capabilities of salesforce.com's Dataloader by:

-- Adding an intuitive web based integration wizard
-- Automating the scheduling of integration jobs
-- Providing direct access to relational databases
-- Transforming data through a drag and drop web interface
-- Importing and exporting Salesforce Dataloader maps

"If you currently use the Salesforce Dataloader, you will love Informatica's On Demand Service," said Gary Fusco, Senior Director of Marketing at Workplace Answers. "We used to rely on our developers to integrate Salesforce with data from our local databases, and every time we added a custom data field in Salesforce, we would need IT to edit their queries. Informatica On Demand Data Loader places back-ups of our mission-critical Salesforce data under our control. IT was skeptical at first when we first brought them the idea of an On Demand Data Loader, but the Informatica brand helped convince them that this was something we could count on."

"Salesforce.com and the software-as-a-service delivery model have helped us to design low-cost, easy to use integration tools that any administrator can use," said Ron Papas, senior vice president and general manager, Informatica On Demand. "Because the Informatica On Demand Data Loader utilizes Informatica's vast experience in the data integration space and is architected from the ground up for SaaS delivery, customers can rapidly deploy it into a very stable and scalable 'set and forget' production environment."
