TriCipher Acquires Sxip User Manager

TriCipher announced the acquisition of Sxip User Manager, a technology supporting today’s integration announcement from and Google Apps. The Sxip User Manager is a free tool that enables administrators to provision and de-provision employees for both applications from a central location.

ebizQ received the following:

The AppExchange-certified solution, which will be re-named myOneLogin User Manager, is the only way administrators can centrally enable and disable user access to both and Google Apps from within the application.

“Companies are quick to adopt on-demand business applications that enhance productivity and enable anytime, anywhere access,” said John De Santis, CEO of TriCipher. “We’re now helping and Google Apps provide even greater value to thousands of companies – by reducing the administrative burden of provisioning and de-provisioning, and saving money by ensuring the right number of licenses.”

This acquisition further strengthens TriCipher’s leadership position in the growing identity-as-a-service market. Already offering myOneLogin, the first on-demand strong authentication single sign-on (SSO) service, TriCipher now gives enterprises the ability to manage identity licenses between multiple on-demand applications through the Sxip User Manager.

"Timely user provisioning is an essential component for SaaS applications like," said Mark Diodati, senior identity and privacy analyst at Burton Group. "Without it, the business is hampered because employees can't access crucial information, and security threats increase because terminated employees continue to have access."

“The Sxip User Manager simplifies the administrator’s job,” said Dick Hardt, founder and CEO of Sxip Identity. “When combined with TriCipher’s strong authentication, customers get the advantages of SaaS with the convenience of a single place to manage user access to two critical business applications.”

When the 41,000 administrators log into their accounts, they’ll see “Discover Google Apps” on the homepage – where they’ll have new access to Sxip User Manager to centrally manage user provisioning and de-provisioning for both and Google Apps. This single-click provisioning will result in one username and password that employees will use to access both applications – making it easy for users to remember login information, and eliminating unnecessary password resets.

The offering gives organizations new ability to control and simplify access to and Google Apps, rapidly integrating new users and terminating access, when needed. The convenience extends to new employees – who will have fast access to both applications, enabling users to easily send e-mail via Gmail through

“Enterprise companies have been clamoring for tighter integration between and other business-critical applications for a long time,” said David Korba, COO for SalesLogistix, a leading integrator for “This is a strong step in the right direction – building the bridge between CRM and collaboration tools.”

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
