GoldenGate's Real-Time Data Solution Deployed for Interactive Television

03/31/2008

GoldenGate Software Inc., a provider of high availability and real-time data integration solutions, today announced that SinglePoint, the media interactivity expert in mobile, has deployed the GoldenGate real-time data integration solution to provide immediate Standard Messaging Solution (SMS) information access to interactive television (iTV) programs and networks in real-time.

ebizQ received the following:

SinglePoint, the media interactivity expert in mobile turns television viewers into active participants through the power of text messages. Powering the overwhelming majority of mobile interactivity on North American television today, SinglePoint is engaged with an audience of more than 250 million users, working in partnership with mobile network and portal operations, entertainment media companies, brand managers and advertising agencies. By implementing GoldenGate solutions, SinglePoint has been able to streamline its operations by moving data transactions in real time from its eastern data center to its data-warehouse in Seattle.

"Our primary business has always been to provide mobile message connectivity, applications, and most importantly reporting and analytics to our customers. Prior to implementing GoldenGate, SinglePoint was faced with the challenge of providing immediate access to at-home viewer SMS text messages for live television game shows," said Curt Miller, CTO for SinglePoint. "Data was loaded into our warehouse once a day, which was unacceptable. With GoldenGate, data is loaded to the data warehouse continuously and we are able to provide television producers with accurate real-time graphs every 6 seconds, allowing them to make decisions on the spot that affect the outcome of the results and at the same time solicit more inbound responses for the show."

A major factor in SinglePoint's selection of the GoldenGate solutions was their live reporting capabilities. SinglePoint's primary production system is located on the East coast while reporting occurs on the West coast. The data warehouse running on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is loaded continuously by the GoldenGate real-time data integration solution with field data and the system is instantly available for reporting and analytics by SinglePoint customers and operational users.

"SinglePoint has deployed the GoldenGate solutions in conjunction with its leading edge, pervasive mobile technology," said Sami Akbay, vice president of product management and marketing for GoldenGate. "With real-time data access capabilities, SinglePoint has been able to expand business opportunities and can now better serve live television shows. Additionally, SinglePoint can directly impact customer satisfaction by offering producers greater control over program participation. With GoldenGate's technology, SinglePoint is transforming the world of live TV."
