Panorama Unveils Beta Initiative In Analytics and Reporting for Google Apps

03/19/2008

Panorama Software announced the launch of the beta version of an analytics, reporting and data visualization solution for Google applications: Panorama Analytics for Google Docs. The SaaS solution integrates with Google to provide capabilities for advanced analytical, reporting and data visualization functions.

ebizQ received the following:

“The debut of pivot table functionality is great news for Google Docs users, whether they are businesspeople or consumers,” said Oudi Antebi, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Panorama Software. “The Panorama solutions for Google Docs are the most powerful tools of their kind; users of any spreadsheet solution can now more easily analyze their spreadsheet information at a much more sophisticated and granular level.”

“Google Docs is designed to help people generate and share information easily, whether it’s for personal or business use,” said Jonathan Rochelle, Senior Product Manager for Google Docs. “Panorama’s solution gives our users much more analytical and reporting power through pivot table functionality – it adds a lot of value to Google Docs. "As a global investor, Intel Capital seeks out innovative technologies worldwide and has invested in Panorama Software," said Jon Kruse, Intel Capital Investment Manager. "We have enjoyed playing an active role in company-building and are pleased to see Panorama working with Google to deliver a needed enterprise-class, SaaS-based solution."

Free Tool.

Panorama’s solution for Google Docs is a free gadget that loads within Google Docs. Consumers can use the tool to manage and analyze personal expenses, bank statements, academic records, research information and more. Business users at both enterprise and small-to-medium companies will benefit from the enhanced ability to drill into data to gain valuable business insight quickly from spreadsheet data, resulting in better decision-making in the short term, and more effective strategic planning and performance in the long term.

Based on NovaView™.

Panorama developed the pivot table functionality with the guidance and support of the Google Docs and Google Visualization API teams. The solution is based on Panorama’s flagship Business Intelligence product suite NovaView, a tightly integrated and complete suite of analysis, reporting, scorecard, dashboard and data visualization applications that empower end users to freely explore their data using scalable and intuitive applications.

Extensible platform.

As part of this launch, Panorama Software is announcing its new analytical application platform: PowerApps, a platform designed to become the open SaaS-based analytical engine that integrates into Google Apps. Panorama’s PowerApps will allow Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to extend their applications with a complete set of analytical, reporting and data visualization capabilities that leverage the Google application platform.

Future Enhancements.

Panorama is in the process of building integration into other Google applications, with other application APIs such as Google Analytics and Google AdWords, as well as developing templates for consumer analytics based on the powerful Google platform.

“Panorama’s solution for Google Apps is a major market-changing event,” said Robert Moul, CEO of Boomi. “We are excited to partner with Panorama to power a whole new way for Google Apps customers to access business and personal data, and perform advanced Business Intelligence directly inside Google Apps.”

“Capgemini is delighted that Panorama is releasing new solutions for Google Apps,” said Andrew Gough, Google Lead for Capgemini, a leading international consulting, technology, outsourcing, and local professional services company. “Adding advanced analytical functionality to spreadsheets naturally serves the needs of Capgemini’s enterprise clients with multiple facilities, global locations and distributed employees.”
