With EmpowerID Version 4.0, organizations can definitively know who has access to any corporate resource, why access was granted, and when that access should end. Version 4.0 includes modules that extend its fine-grained Entitlement Management and automated provisioning to many popular platforms and applications, including: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server™, Microsoft Exchange Server™, Active Directory, UNIX, custom applications, file shares and print shares, among others.

"EmpowerID Version 4.0 addresses the need for enforcing a consistent set of policies for identities, roles and resources across all platforms and applications in an enterprise,” said Patrick Parker, Chief Executive Officer of The Dot Net Factory. “Its highly flexible BPM platform offers a code-free designer and a rich library of shapes to create powerful orchestrations that directly map to an organization’s business processes and automatically adjust to changes in business systems. EmpowerID delivers effective Identity and Entitlement Management with lower costs, improved visibility, and better security.”

"The Dot Net Factory is one of the first companies to fully harness and employ the new Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) framework for identity management," said Felix Gaehtgens, senior analyst at Kuppinger Cole & Partners. "KCP endorses the usage of standard workflow engines for Identity Management."

EmpowerID’s Entitlement Management features a flexible Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system that leverages your Active Directory, HR system, or other authoritative sources to assign application specific roles and to continuously enforce policies based upon a user’s job function, a user’s location in the organization. Coupling a user’s entitlements to their business role and location within an organization based upon authoritative systems automates permission assignment and revocation across all of your directories and applications. EmpowerID enables centralized role and rule-based authorization management, versus system by system permissions management. Its web-based, graphical console provides a single point of policy management, from which organizations can quickly and easily define and manage role definitions, role memberships and associated access privileges, for all types of enterprise resources and applications.

Version 4.0 includes Password Manager, Profile Manager, and Provisioning Manager to manage identities throughout the lifecycle process, including: creation, inventorying, enforcement, management, certification, and retirement. EmpowerID’s Connect modules enable identity management for: Active Directory, LDAP, Microsoft Identity Lifecycle Manager, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Unix, Oracle, and SAP. EmpowerID Role Enforcer Modules provide centralized entitlement management and enforcement for: Microsoft SharePoint, File Shares, Print Shares, Groups, Microsoft Exchange, Unix, Custom Applications, Oracle (release scheduled for Q2), and SAP (release scheduled for Q2). EmpowerID Version 4.0’s highly scalable BPM platform, built on Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation, incorporates a forward looking Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). EmpowerID sets a new standard for enterprise Identity and Entitlement Management platforms with its unparalleled level of control in modeling Entitlement Management around an organization’s unique business processes.
