Informatica Integrates Data-as-a-Service for Salesforce Customers

09/17/2007

Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a provider of data integration software, today announced a special integration bundle for salesforce.com customers.

ebizQ received the following:

Many software-as-a-service (SaaS) customers pursue an incremental rollout strategy, but still require strong integration support regardless of the initial number of users. To meet that need, Informatica has introduced a new offering, the Informatica Integration Pack for Salesforce. The Informatica Integration Pack for Salesforce, available immediately, is a limited-use, subscription-based suite of Informatica products specifically for salesforce.com customers that enables integration between Salesforce and local/on-premise applications, databases and files.

This new offering is comprised of Informatica’s PowerCenter 8 with connectivity to Salesforce and other applications in a simple, easy-to-use offering that allows companies to address their various Salesforce integration needs at a compelling price point. Sample integration scenarios supported include: customer/account synchronization, sales hierarchy realignment, leads push, opportunity-to-order processing, and other typical business integration activities.

Many salesforce.com customers rely on Informatica for their integration needs. Companies currently using Informatica to integrate Salesforce with their on-premise applications include Americo Life, Deutsche Bank Asset Management, Education Lending Group, Ellie Mae, Galileo International, Independent Health Association, Plantronics, Procter & Gamble, and Tumbleweed.

“Informatica has always enjoyed a strong reputation with enterprise customers for its world-class expertise in integration,” said Ron Papas, General Manager, Informatica On Demand. “We’ve seen a high level of interest from salesforce.com customers who would like to rapidly integrate their Salesforce implementation and want to leverage their customer relationship management (CRM) data effectively. Speed of deployment, a robust product, and a compelling price point are key considerations for customers, and Informatica is uniquely positioned to address those needs.”

“With the Informatica Integration Pack for Salesforce, we’re opening up an opportunity to leverage Informatica’s industry-leading integration software without requiring a significant up-front investment,” said Papas. “This new offering will allow companies to maximize enterprise-class data integration and data quality products, and helps them create the right foundation for managing their data.”

“More than 50 percent of our 5.4 billion service transactions last quarter were through the Salesforce API, demonstrating the massive adoption and use of the Salesforce Platform and CRM applications with customers,” said George Hu, Chief Marketing Officer, salesforce.com. “Informatica provides proven industry-leading integration solutions to help customers extend the benefits of on-demand throughout their enterprises.”

Salesforce.com systems integrators who have signed Informatica’s Service Provider Partner Program (SP3) in support of the Informatica Integration Pack for Salesforce include, Acumen Solutions, Astadia, Buan Consulting, Model Metrics, and Okere.

“Model Metrics welcomes the announcement of the Informatica Integration Pack for Salesforce from Informatica,” said Adam Caplan, chief executive officer of Model Metrics, one of the leading salesforce.com implementation and development partners. “As we hear every day from our customers, integration is a key issue in a successful Salesforce implementation and Informatica Integration Pack for Salesforce will provide these companies a robust, quick to implement and cost-effective integration solution based on proven technology.”

“We needed a quick to implement integration solution that we could grow with,” said Chris Lin, vice president of infrastructure and eCommerce at Ellie Mae, Inc., a Dublin, CA based provider of software and services for the mortgage industry. “We were very happy to find that Informatica’s integration pack for Salesforce enabled us to license Informatica’s market-leading integration solution for our salesforce.com implementation.”
