Boomi On Demand Rolls Out on Salesforce.com's AppExchange

09/17/2007

Boomi, a provider of on-demand integration, today announced the availability of Boomi On DemandSM for salesforce.com’s AppExchange marketplace.

ebizQ received the following:

Boomi On Demand lets salesforce.com customers integrate all types of applications and data directly from the Web without the burden of installing and maintaining costly software packages or hardware appliances on premise.

Boomi On Demand allows users to securely build, deploy, and manage integrations directly from the Web using only a Web browser. Integrations are built visually with familiar point-and-click, drag-and-drop ease. Once integration processes are built, they are deployed via a lightweight, dynamic runtime engine called an “AtomSM.” Built with patent-pending technology, Boomi Atoms contain all the components required to execute an integration process from end-to-end, including connectors, transformation rules, decision handling and processing logic. Atoms can be hosted for SaaS-to-SaaS integration or downloaded behind a customer’s firewall for on-premise integration.

Customers can purchase integration capabilities on a pay-per-connection basis at a fraction of the cost of traditional enterprise integration software. Users will have the ability to seamlessly integrate their salesforce.com applications with other software as a service (SaaS) applications or with on-premise applications through the Web.

“We’re excited to launch the public beta here at Dreamforce. Boomi On Demand is fundamentally redefining the integration market, much in the same way salesforce.com transformed CRM. Boomi On Demand is accelerating the movement of applications to the Web by removing integration as a major barrier to SaaS adoption,” Bob Moul, Boomi CEO explained. “Salesforce.com’s expansive customer base will now have access to an affordable, easy-to-use integration solution that allows them to fully leverage applications and gain critical insight into their business.”

“The thousands of installs of hundreds of different on-demand applications clearly demonstrate the incredible momentum of the AppExchange as the world’s on-demand application marketplace,” said George Hu, chief marketing officer, salesforce.com. “Customers of all sizes can visit the AppExchange, and with a few clicks, can leverage Boomi’s expertise to reap the benefits of integration capabilities that drive business value.”

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
