eIQnetworks and Mazu Networks Team on SecureVue™ Security, Risk and Compliance Platform

06/25/2007

eIQnetworks®, Inc., a provider of next-generation security information management (SIM) solutions, and Mazu Networks, a provider of Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) systems, today announced a technology partnership to integrate Mazu with the eIQ SecureVue™ security, risk and compliance platform.

ebizQ received the following details:

The integration of a full function NBA and SIM solution will provide enterprises with improved visibility of network activity and the ability to more effectively monitor, identify and remediate network operations and security threats.

“Unlike solutions that deliver NBA and SIM functionality from a single platform, Mazu uses strategic partnerships to combine its best-of-breed NBA system with leading SIM providers such as eIQ,” said Phil Hochmuth, senior analyst, Yankee Group. “By integrating pure play NBA and SIM solutions, enterprises gain the best combined functionality for alerting on or mitigating network operations and security threats.”

Mazu provides continuous global visibility into how users, applications, hosts and devices behave on a network, delivering information on how current activity differs from typical behavior. Users immediately understand who is talking to whom, what applications and services are running, where the traffic is flowing and if there are any meaningful changes that indicate a network issue, security threat or application problem. Through the integration, Mazu’s network traffic intelligence will be correlated with log, vulnerability, configuration, asset and performance data presented by eIQ’s SecureVue platform. This allows network and security analysts to obtain contextual information around an event or alert, dramatically improving their ability to identify, isolate and remediate any potential network operations or security threats across the enterprise.

“Current solutions on the market today that claim NBA/SIM capabilities are delivering a weak version of both technologies,” said Paul Brady, CEO, Mazu Networks. “Through the eIQ and Mazu partnership, enterprises finally have access to a best-of-breed solution that provides strong and targeted NBA and SIM capabilities.”

Today’s network environment is more complex and operators face a growing number of issues that can jeopardize security and IT operations. Further, with isolated events and alerts yielding massive log, network and security data, the resulting number of false positives becomes unmanageable. By combining the intelligence Mazu provides with SecureVue’s ability to minimize false positives and its forensics/investigative functionality, enterprises can better prioritize and remediate network operations and security incidents.

“Security teams are often confronted with escalated events that require time-consuming analysis for resolution and remediation,” said Vijay Basani, CEO and co-founder of eIQnetworks. “By joining forces with Mazu, we are able to offer customers a solution that simplifies the process of threat investigation and remediation through end-to-end correlation and increased collaboration.”

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
