Ipedo Releases New EII Platform
07/11/2006
Ipedo, a specialist in enterprise information integration software, today announced the latest version of its EII platform, which provides governance and distributed transactional support across multiple disparate sources to meet the information sharing needs of large enterprises.
ebizQ was provided with the following details:
Ipedo XIP 4.2 focuses on providing detailed business context surrounding the specific connections among database tables, Web-based applications, spreadsheets, documents, and other information sources, which allows developers, architects and business users to better understand the complex relationships among enterprise data sources.
Ipedo also extends its capabilities in creating a data services layer to accommodate the growing movement towards service-oriented architectures (SOA). Ipedo allows enterprises to ingest Web Services, seamlessly integrate them with data from relational sources or packaged applications, and publish them as either new SOAP or REST Web Services or use this merged information in business intelligence applications that query Ipedo using SQL. This ability to combine Web Services with disparate data and metadata makes Ipedo indispensable for use in SOA.
"Organizations are caught between providing wider access to data for better decision making and new regulatory requirements that restrict data access," said Nick Zhang, CEO of Ipedo. "Ipedo provides a framework for creating a flexible and secure data services layer that allows our customers to balance strong governance and transparency with robust, on-demand data integration across the enterprise."
Ipedo XIP 4.2 introduces:
-- Data Governance Infrastructure -- Ipedo now has additional logging
capabilities that enable easier tracking and audit of system and user
activity. Impact Analysis reports let administrators see how changes to
data sources affect views downstream. Data Lineage reports allow managers
to trace views back to the source data. These metadata tools help
executives, analysts, and other decision makers understand how different
business entities relate to one another.
-- SOA/Web Services Publishing Wizards -- Ipedo easily ingests both SOAP and
REST-style Web Services, making it suitable for any enterprise embracing
SOA. A new Web Services publishing wizard makes it easy to make data
integrated from any back-end data sources available as a Web Service.
-- Dynamic Failover Redirection -- Ipedo can automatically look to a pre-
defined replica if the primary data source is not available. This boosts
uptime and minimizes business disruption by delivering real-time
information to users from wherever it resides.
-- Improved Team Development Environment -- This version streamlines the
processes for creating and deploying views, publishing Web Services, and
replicating EII servers across the enterprise. Ipedo's ANSI SQL 92
compatible system catalog and complete SQL DDL support allow external
databases or modeling tools to seamlessly exchange data or metadata with
Ipedo, enabling architects to add a semantic layer to their logical data
models.
-- Improvements to Performance -- Enhancements to Ipedo's industry leading
query engines include additional push-down techniques and more join
algorithms to deliver even better performance and give developers extra
tools for optimizing queries on specialized data sets.
Ipedo XIP leverages SQL and XQuery to integrate and manage information from disparate, complex data sources to create a data services layer that enables real-time business decisions. Ipedo's patented approach treats existing corporate databases and Web Services as a single, virtual data source that applications or users can access using industry-standard protocols. This allows users to gain customized access to the information they need, in a context that makes sense, all while leveraging existing IT investments. Ipedo XIP also contains a powerful set of performance and security management capabilities that balance user needs with corporate policies.
