iWay Builds AmberPoint Tool Into SOA Solution

06/20/2006

iWay Software, an Information Builders company and a specialist in enterprise integration solutions, and AmberPoint, a provider of service-oriented architecture (SOA) visibility, management, and security solutions, announced today that it is integrating AmberPoint’s SOA management software into the iWay SOA Middleware Suite and is reselling AmberPoint as part of its total SOA solution.

ebizQ received the following details:

The combined offering will enable companies to streamline the creation and maintenance of SOA-based integration in extremely complex environments.

“SOA should enable integration and reuse across multiple platforms and applications,” explains John Senor, president of iWay Software.

“Unfortunately, the complexity of their environments keeps many organizations from the component reuse they’d hoped for. Our joint technology offering solves that problem by combining the interoperability needed to marshal all the necessary resources with the management needed to govern them. After an extensive review of different approaches, we selected AmberPoint as our runtime governance solution.”

The iWay-AmberPoint solution brings together two best-of-breed capabilities that are fundamental to SOA:

  • iWay Software’s SOA Middleware Suite – includes a highly interoperable enterprise service bus (ESB) and the industry’s most comprehensive adapter suite, which enables users to create sophisticated services based on many different technologies, such as ERP systems, mainframes, and business-to-business interactions

  • AmberPoint SOA Management System – a comprehensive platform for managing and securing SOA applications at runtime. AmberPoint enables policy-based management of the services network, providing unprecedented visibility into and control of services-based environments across different platforms and technologies

The combination of AmberPoint and iWay enables users to easily create and maintain sophisticated enterprise-class services – without writing custom integration code, even on less-common platforms – and manage the resulting services regardless of platforms or underlying technologies.

“iWay’s selection of AmberPoint is a great endorsement for the advantages of AmberPoint solutions,” said John Hubinger, AmberPoint CEO. “We’re very glad to be working so closely with iWay and to bring the advantages of our combined solutions to market. The iWay-AmberPoint solution will allow SOA managers to track any service call made using any interface including XML, message queues, and B2B interactions.”

The AmberPoint technology is being bundled with iWay Service Manager, which is the ESB in iWay SOA Middleware. The combined solution will be sold by iWay Software.

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
