Entuity and Emprisa Networks Team Up

06/12/2006

Entuity™, Inc., the developer of the Eye of the Storm® (EYE) integrated network management suite and Emprisa Networks™, a provider of smart network change, configuration and compliance management solutions, today announced a partnership.

ebizQ received the following details:

By combining Emprisa Networks’ E-NetAware™ and Entuity’s EYE, enterprises and service providers can efficiently and securely respond to the increasingly complex business challenges of compliance auditing and enforcement, service level assurance, or enterprise application deployment, and ensure efficiency of a company’s most critical business asset – the network. The partnership agreement also includes sales and marketing support.

“Our customers want deep visibility into what’s going on in the network. Understanding the impact of network change, monitoring configuration drift, enforcing security and compliance standards, and having a true picture of network assets and their interrelationships are critical data points that impact overall network performance and service delivery,” stated Sherrie L. Woodring, president and CEO of Emprisa Networks. “By tightly integrating E-NetAware and EYE, we are able to deliver a best-in-breed solution that enables our customers to benefit from an easy to use, feature-rich solution for automating network change, configuration, compliance, and asset management operations.”

Together, E-NetAware and EYE deliver a powerful set of change management, configuration management, and asset optimization capabilities for managing multi-vendor network devices. This powerful combination of functionality helps customers looking to improve their existing network management processes and better understand the impact of configuration change on overall network performance and service delivery. The integrated solution includes:

  • Automatic device synchronization – The integration will enable the automatic population of E-NetAware's database with EYE's device list, eliminating the need to manage multiple databases and increasing system accuracy. EYE's inventory information will be resolved against E-NetAware's compliancy rules and policies to ensure adherence to corporate best practices.

  • Policy-based event notification – E-NetAware notifies EYE when a compliancy violation or configuration change is made to improve response time of IT operations and decrease service interruptions. Combined with the fault and performance alerts visible in the EYE Bulleting Board, operators can quickly assess severity and business impact. Once identified, problems can be quickly and easily resolved by launching E-NetAware and implementing the appropriate action.

  • Proactive change impact analysis – E-NetAware correlates recent network change with availability and performance threshold alarms generated by EYE. Correlation policies pinpoint the root cause of issues, automate problem resolution, and ensure maximum uptime of essential business applications.

“Solving critical business issues like compliance, change management, or network asset optimization are difficult enough for customers without adding the implementation burden and complexity of heavily laden frameworks,” said Michael Jannery, president and CEO of Entuity. “At the encouragement of one of our largest mutual customers, Emprisa and Entuity have combined our best-in-breed solutions to deliver the best price performance and strongest range of capabilities for a quick to deploy, easy to use solution that improves overall network compliance, serviceability, security, and management.”
