LogLogic Joins NetApp Partner Program

04/04/2006

Today, LogLogic announced membership in the NetApp Partner Program to help customers automate this process, while delivering enhanced levels of reporting and alerting for critical processes such as COBIT 4.0, and regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and PCI.

The following details were provided to ebizQ:

"Log data is an underutilized source of security and performance information in an organization," said Jerry Shenk, senior analyst for the SANS institute. "Monitoring logs can help enterprises reduce risk by detecting problems quickly, thereby helping to prevent and identify the root causes of system outages and security breaches. The integration of LogLogic and NetApp storage can help users gain an exact understanding of threats and compliance."

Log data can account for up to 30 percent of enterprise data storage requirements. With as many as 10,000 log messages generated per second from a single set of firewalls, more than 25 terabytes of storage are needed each year to house all log data required for regulatory compliance initiatives.

"There is a huge opportunity for customers to better utilize log data," said Patrick Rogers, vice president of Products and Partners at Network Appliance. "LogLogic’s membership in the NetApp Partner Program provides customers a powerful solution to help satisfy their compliance and security needs with log management and intelligence capabilities."

To deliver on this promise, LogLogic currently integrates with NetApp unified storage systems, NetApp NetCache systems, and Decru encryption appliances. LogLogic will also integrate with NetApp SnapLock software to provide critical log data aggregation, reporting, alerting, Write Once, Read Many (WORM) retention and security. This integration complements the NetApp Uncompromised Security Initiative, a program that challenges the status quo of data security and promises to deliver industry-best solutions to the enterprise.

"NetApp and LogLogic share a common vision of unleashing the vast potential of log data," said Christopher Brennan, CEO of LogLogic. "The combination of our solutions sets a new industry benchmark for reducing the cost and complexity of collecting and storing 100 percent of log data from virtually any device or application."

"The combination of LogLogic and NetApp solutions is working very well for us," said Gary Bridgewater, IT manager at Rambus, Inc. "It is a highly scalable and high performance solution for our security and compliance needs."

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
