Companies Choose SEEC Application Manager™ as SOA Foundation

02/21/2006

SEEC, Inc., (OTC: SEEC), a provider of business component software for the insurance and financial services industries, today announced that it has expanded relationships with several leading IT consulting and systems integration firms.

The following details were provided:

A growing number of global firms, including Accenture, IBM Global Services, i-Gate, Infosys and Lionbridge are using SEEC’s industry-leading Application Manager™ software as a foundation for SOA and legacy modernization initiatives, improving quality, accuracy and service-levels for their clients.

"Up to this point in time, most companies’ SOA investments have focused on the underlying infrastructure -- middleware, management, security, development tools. But there has been little in the way of products that service-enable existing applications," said Jason Bloomberg, Senior Analyst at Zapthink. "As the SOA market matures, however, there is an urgent need for technologies and approaches that can help companies leverage legacy applications in the SOA environment. SEEC’s technology provides the automation capabilities companies need to efficiently adapt and modernize legacy applications for the future."

Accenture and Infosys have deployed enterprise-wide roll-outs of SEEC’s Application Manager software in a shared-services model that drives significant improvements in competitiveness for those firms. In addition to the software, SEEC provides access to 24/5 technical support, maintenance and training for hundreds of engineers and consultants. Accenture, the latest firm to implement SEEC’s technology, will deploy Application Manager to hundreds of users across its delivery centers located in the U.S. and India. The company plans to use the SEEC software for both on-site and off-shore client engagements.

Infosys has used SEEC’s Application Manager to support maintenance, development and re-engineering projects comprising more than 630 Million lines of code (MLOC) for more than 140 projects across all 9 of its offshore delivery centers.

SEEC’s Application Manager software enables these firms to help clients adapt legacy applications for the future and build new collaborative business processes in an incremental approach that delivers long-term value and near-term ROI. With SEEC, these firms can help clients reduce application maintenance costs, improve service to customers and improve the overall effectiveness of their IT infrastructure.

“As Fortune 500 companies adopt new service-oriented architectures to drive competitive advantage, they are turning to world-class service providers like Accenture, IBM, i-Gate, Infosys and Lionbridge to help them maintain and transform their existing systems,” said Shane Tulloch, CEO of SEEC. “We’re continuing to see increased adoption of our application management tools by some of the top global services companies. We feel that our ability to automate key legacy management and modernization processes through an SOA architecture provides a better solution for our partners, with significant benefits for their customers.”

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
