IONA and Industria Develop Strategic Alliance
IONA® Technologies (NASDAQ: IONA), a provider of high-performance integration solutions for mission-critical IT environments, and Industria, a multi-play solutions provider and systems integrator, today announced a strategic technology and business alliance.
The following details were furnished to ebizQ:
The agreement makes provision for Artix™, IONA’s extensible Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technology, to provide the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) integration engine for Industria’s multi-play support offerings, including its flagship IMS Universal operational support system (OSS). Based on the TeleManagement Forum’s NGOSS architecture, IMS Universal is designed to provide ready connectivity with all leading CRM, OSS, NMS and BSS systems.
“Our customers demand advanced service and support infrastructures for the roll-out of next generation digital services to their subscriber base, and ensuring that we can effectively meet those demands with a highly interoperable OSS solution is critical,” said Industria CTO, David Bowman. “IONA’s industry-leading support of the standards, transports and protocols found throughout the typical telecommunications IT and network infrastructure made Artix a natural choice.”
Artix will provide a highly configurable and extensible plug-in integration architecture to enable seamless and customisable implementation of Industria’s solutions across disparate network and technology environments. Industria IMS Universal enables customers to deploy advanced provisioning and billing solutions for real-time, on-demand digital services.
“This partnership brings together IONA’s integration leadership and technical innovation with Industria’s advanced broadband solutions, deployment and consulting expertise,” said Scott Devens, vice president, strategic alliances, IONA Technologies. “With expanded capabilities to support SOA adoption within the telecommunications market, Artix provides a key integration technology enabling our joint customers to take advantage of SOA to drive new business initiatives, reduce time to market for new service offerings and gain competitive leadership.”
