The companies shared the following:

BMC Software products help businesses align IT operations to directly support critical business objectives, a strategy known as Business Service Management (BSM). The relationship with Composite will benefit BMC Software customers by improving their visibility and performance in large-scale environments. Complex organizations face a landscape of disparate technology, internal and outsourced, across geographies and business units, assembled over time. Effective BSM requires a consolidated, real-time view across this entire landscape for planning, reporting, impact analysis and end-user service delivery.

"As a leader in its market, BMC already supports a distributed data model for the Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB)," said Wister Walcott, vice president of Marketing for Composite Software. "Composite provides the next generation of federation technology, to extend reporting and dashboard capabilities, and to enable live connectivity to configuration information outside of BMC."

"With Composite, BMC will be the only enterprise management company with built-in, standards-based federation," said Sean Duclaux, director of Product Management at BMC Software. "This will extend our rich planning and reporting capabilities in distributed deployments. In addition, Composite's speed, and its compact, efficient footprint, will mesh well with BMC Software products."
