LogicLibrary®, a provider of software development asset management tools, today announced the introduction of Logidex Asset Relationship Visualization (ARV).
Logidex ARV enables managers, architects, developers and analysts to quickly and easily understand the complex relationships that exist in enterprise architecture and service-oriented architecture (SOA) initiatives. It is the most effective way for organizations to maintain asset relationships and understand how IT development projects relate to and support business processes.
In order to deliver and maintain an effective enterprise architecture (EA), users must understand asset relationships and the impact an asset change may have across an organization’s application portfolio. This type of impact analysis can more easily be accomplished by using state of the art visualization techniques, such as Radial Views, which is the basis for Logidex ARV.
By simply dragging and dropping SDAs into Logidex ARV, customers can determine the impact that relationships have on new and existing application developments, as well as how closely they fit with priority business requirements. As asset relationships change, Logidex automatically updates the Asset Relationship Visualization software so that the most current asset relationships are always displayed. The ARV feature is delivered as an Eclipse Plug-in, is a separately chargeable option and will be available in the fourth quarter of 2005.
“Business requirements should drive an enterprise architecture. LogicLibrary’s Asset Relationship Visualization, in conjunction with Logidex’s patent-pending graphical reference models, enables enterprise architects to confirm that their SDAs are well aligned with business priorities,” said Alan Himler, vice president of product management and marketing at LogicLibrary. “Logidex goes far beyond the simple text-based search mechanisms offered by competing metadata repositories.
LogicLibrary’s ARV and additional advanced search features enable management, business analysts, architects and developers to locate the software development assets that best meet specific business needs.”
