Farabi Rolls Out HostFront Enterprise Server 4.0
07/28/2005
Farabi Technology Corp. announced today the release of its flagship product, the HostFront Enterprise Server (HFES) version 4.0. The HostFront Enterprise Server is an enterprise-class solution for complete Host Access and Legacy Integration. It is a single package that consists of numerous components and tools seeking to make legacy integration faster, easier and more efficient.
Farabi provided the following details:
HFES includes a suite of .NET and COM Integration Components that enable developers to expose legacy data to new applications through Screen Logic Integration (SLI). The HostFront SLI complements the Business Logic Integration (BLI) of Microsoft’s Host Integration Server 2004.
The HostFront Legacy Integrator is an important component of HFES. It is an IDE-integrated development tool that automatically generates application code or Web Services to expose business logic from existing legacy applications. These Web Services are reusable and act as the underlining layer in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The Legacy Integrator is an advanced native extension to Microsoft’s Visual Studio.NET that offers developers a familiar development environment and significantly shortens their learning curve and development time.
The HostFront Enterprise Server also includes an efficient Session Pool Manager that is designed with a totally graphical user interface requiring no coding from the user. In addition to managing the use and sharing of host sessions, the Session Pool Manager defines and executes navigations for Session Parking. The Session Pool Manager improves response time and eliminates unnecessary navigations.
Because the HostFront Enterprise Server is based on a cluster-centric design, it ensures robustness, scalability and high availability with its built-in Session Load Balancing and Fail-Over services. Multiple HostFront clusters can be totally managed, administered or monitored in real time from a single graphical management console using the HostFront Enterprise Manager (HFEM).
The HostFront Enterprise Server also provides and manages access to IBM Mainframe (zSeries), IBM Midrange (iSeries) and/or Unix host systems with its feature-rich and centrally deployed Host Access clients. Client connections are highly secured with built-in 128-bit encryption and support for RSA SecurID and ClearTrust. The HostFront cluster authentication can be integrated with Microsoft Active Directory Services, Novell’s iChain or Windows domains.
“We are very excited about the value that the HostFront Enterprise Server offers our clients,” said Michel Kassar, president of Farabi Technology. “It represents an excellent Return On Investment (ROI) and saves significant development time for a quicker time-to-market,” he added.
The HostFront Enterprise Server replaces the previous HostFront for the Mainframe, HostFront for the AS/400 and HostFront for Unix products. Clients with an existing subscription to the SSM program will automatically receive free upgrades to the HostFront Enterprise Server.
