Resolution EBS Launches Certification Program

06/22/2005

Resolution EBS, the provider a business rules engine (BRE) built from the ground up for front office applications and processes that seeks to reduce costs and raise revenue opportunities, today launched the Resolution Certification Program.

The company provided the following details:

This program responds to the growing demand for Resolution’s innovative rules-based approach, the Resolution Interactive Rules Platform™, (Resolution iR), which is used to create interactive applications and processes for the front of the value chain or “edge” of an organization.

The edge is often dubbed “the last mile” because, until Resolution, there was no way to automate edge decision-making. Traditional code simply couldn’t handle the 360-degree of interaction and complexity it demands. Resolution’s patented technology solves this problem.

Becoming Resolution Certified gives partners the experience and knowledge to develop and deliver high value, innovative solutions for the front of the value chain. These skills enable partners to help their customers compete in today’s self-service, on-demand world. And because no other rules based technology is built specifically for the edge, Resolution partners also add a significantly differentiated solution and accompanying set of skills to their portfolios.

“With the market for our technology heating up,” said Praba Swarnam, Resolution vice president, Professional Services, “the need for expertise to deliver flawless Resolution-based solutions is also rising exponentially. The Resolution Certification Program ensures that our partners are fully prepared to rapidly deliver first class solutions to a fast-growing number of customers.”

Certification gives customers and partners the expertise they need to design, install, deploy and troubleshoot Resolution iR-based solutions. In addition, iR Certification enables partners to exceed client expectations by ensuring the highest levels of proficiency. Certified Resolution iR consultants can identify business pains that can be addressed by Resolution iR for enterprises and ensure that they reap the benefits of iR solutions.

The program involves extensive training courses targeted specifically at different aspects of a client’s needs. Resolution offers three levels of iR-certification: Associate, Professional and Expert. Each of these levels target different aspects of the business in building Resolution iR solutions. The Expert certification allows a consultant to design, develop and deploy the Resolution iR solutions and to assess business needs for these solutions. Plans call for more than 100 consultants to be Resolution Certified by the end of this year.

Many leading companies in manufacturing, healthcare and other industries deploy Resolution iR, which differs significantly from traditional back-end-from-the-start rules engines in several important ways. Easily deployed in all distributed computing environments, including a service oriented architecture (SOA), Resolution cuts the time and cost it takes to create dynamic, front office applications such as rating portals, service portals, call centers, order entry portals and anywhere the organization pushes technology to the edge where customers and other stakeholders interact with the enterprise.

In addition, independent software vendors and systems integrators embed or integrate Resolution to give their solutions greater agility and flexibility. In January of this year, the company introduced Resolution 3.0, an embeddable version of its groundbreaking Rules Engine used by leading enterprises. Its extremely small engine and flexible manager make it the ideal rules solution for ISVs looking to add interactive, easily brandable capabilities to their offerings, without adding a heavy infrastructure requiring massive maintenance, cost and support.

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value.
