XpertUniverse Launches XpertSHARE Portal for WebSphere

XpertUniverse, an 'Advanced Industry Optimized IBM Business Partner,' announced today the launch of the XpertSHARE portlet for WebSphere. This innovation allows the XpertSHARE expert location, live collaboration and business intelligence solution to be accessed through WebSphere portal software.

According to the company, XpertSHARE enables companies to systematically deliver human expertise to employees, customers and partners across organizational and geographic boundaries. The company’s patent pending technology makes advanced use of portal of IBM’s Websphere Portal platform and Lotus collaboration offerings, they said.

The XpertSHARE portlet is a pluggable user interface component that serves as a presentation layer for the XpertSHARE information network. This feature "enables WebSphere customers to seamlessly integrate the advanced functionality of XpertSHARE into their networks, permitting users 'on demand' access to industry or issue-specific experts by means of a rich online collaborative environment," XxpertUniverse said.

“With XpertSHARE we have empowered organizations to tap into the tacit knowledge of employees - for superior problem resolution, enhanced productivity, and the next level of customer service” said Victor Friedman, the company’s chairman and CEO. “We are looking forward to the new applications of our technology through our WebSphere integration”

Used alone, or in conjunction with other IBM software solutions, XpertSHARE seeks to address the problem of information sharing that troubles many large, geographically dispersed organizations. In many organizations, the company said, thousands of hours of are lost each day while employees or customers search for the information they need to be productive. "It is estimated that over 80% of critical business information resides inside the heads of employees; not in company documentation or information systems."
