HiT Software Joins MySQL Partner Program
01/14/2005
HiT Software, Inc., a developer of standards-based products for relational database access, today announced that it has joined the MySQL Partner Program to increase interoperability between MySQL -- an open source database – and other database products and applications.
HiT Software brings two new product lines to the MySQL user base. The first product, DBMoto, is a data replication tool that is said to offer a greatly reduced TCO to corporate IT managers by migrating and synchronizing data from leading proprietary relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 iSeries) to MySQL. The second product, Allora, provides interoperability with any heterogeneous system or application by importing or exporting XML (the standard for data exchange) to and from MySQL.
Both DBMoto and Allora are products that "spare developers from tedious database application programming and allow instant interoperability with MySQL at minimum cost," a release said. "By leveraging intuitive graphical mapping tools, transformation wizards, well-documented APIs, scripting capability and open standards for data access, HiT Software products are aligned with the MySQL mission to provide superior data management with minimum maintenance, administration and support in an open architecture."
"We are excited about our partnership with MySQL," said Giacomo Lorenzin, CEO of HiT Software. "By offering our data replication and XML integration tools to MySQL users, we are making a commitment to provide excellent support for replication and XML integration projects within the MySQL community.”
“As interest in open source databases continues to grow, there is a great need for tools like HiT Software’s to help users migrate and integrate their corporate data and applications," said Mika Asikainen, partner managerfor MySQL AB. "We welcome HiT Software to our partner program so they can assist more users to attain the cost-saving and administration benefits of MySQL."
