Pantero Builds Bridge Between XML and UML
12/15/2004
Pantero Corporation, a provider of data integration software, today announced that it has made available key innovations for semantic integration in the Pantero Release 1.2. In this release, Pantero debuts the Expression Builder™ for creating sophisticated data interpretation and validation services without having to write code.
In addition to previous releases on the BEA software platform (Nasdaq: BEAS), this release adds support for IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq: SUNW) platforms to extend the platform compatibility of Pantero software. Pantero Release 1.2 also introduces new standards support with the import and conversion to XSD of Unified Modeling Language (UML) models.
Pantero said the release cements the company's position as a provider of tools for delivering valid business data in integration projects. Pantero’s software is the first integration solution to go beyond managing the format integrity of data to address the far costlier challenge of managing the business validity of data shared between applications.
Building on open XML standards and scalable J2EE platforms, Pantero automates the validation and enrichment of data flows based on metadata instead of requiring hundreds to thousands of lines of code.
"By supporting the most widely-deployed platforms and data formats available today, Pantero brings valid data interoperability to virtually every corner of the enterprise," said Pano Anthos, CEO of Pantero. "This will bring dramatic cost savings to a wide range of integration projects, particularly in maintaining the validity of integrated data ove r time as systems, message definitions, and requirements change."
"With the addition of graphical tools to define not just transformations but also integrity rules, not only does developer productivity increase, but the opportunity to catch and correct data problems earlier in the transaction cycle allows systems to reduce the number of expensive manual corrections to transactional data that plague financial systems," said Evan Bauer, industry consultant and former CTO at Credit Suisse First Boston. "Pantero’s software uniquely addresses these challenges by treating data in-flight with same schema-driven rigor that is applied to data stored in relational databases."
