"We’re very pleased to become the first network configuration management company to become part of IBM’s OPAL initiative. It means a lot to our customers and will play a role in our future product development initiatives," said Susan Nash, President and CEO, Voyence. "Having VoyenceControl! in the OPAL program enables us to arm customers with highly optimized and automated change management best-practices.”

IBM’s OPAL initiative and Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator product address two common IT issues – overdependence on manual processes and low utilization of resources - by automating changes to IT environments.

"VoyenceControl! is now able to play a role in our strategy to help customers cut costs, streamline their IT operations and create on demand business environments,” said Lucian Bifano, vice president, business development and alliances for IBM Tivoli Software.

The companies said that working hand-in-hand, VoyenceControl! and Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator will enable organizations to:

  • Protect existing investments, lower implementation costs and deliver a rapid return on investment by improving the utilization of existing hardware, software, storage and network devices.

  • Automate repetitive, manual tasks performed by system, network, and storage administrators.

  • Allow companies to manipulate their IT environment in real time to achieve desired business goals. This is accomplished by sensing the increase or decrease in IT resource demand and automatically taking action to reallocate resources accordingly throughout the entire system, allowing multiple applications to be efficiently run according to business priorities on a common, dynamic, intelligently managed IT infrastructure.
