ApplTop Solutions released its data security solution for the Oracle E-Business Suite, ASL*Secure.
The vendor offered these details:
Applying dynamic security policies to corporate data is no easy task, especially when dealing with large-scale enterprise applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite. Continuing their “designed to make life simple” approach, ApplTop Solutions today announced the release their data security solution, ASL*Secure.
ApplTop’s founder, Craig O’Neill says, “Often businesses need to protect sensitive data within an application under a given context, for example, you may want to restrict access to sensitive payroll data for external HR users yet ensure your internal users maintain full access. Providing this kind of granularity to large-scale packaged applications can be a very difficult task, often requiring severe system surgery.”
Ensuring sensitive and critical data is secured is vital in today’s business environment; more and more sensitive information is transacted using large scale enterprise applications so having the right tools at hand to help ensure security is paramount.
Security polices are implemented with ASL*Secure using two methods:
--Row Level Security (RLS) – the ability to omit entire rows from a query
--Column Level Security (CLS) - the ability to conceal the data in a particular column
O’Neill goes on to say, “Implementing complex rule driven security policies is very simple using ASL*Secure. Almost any data can be secured in a matter of minutes without the need for complex coding or customisation. A security solution that may have taken weeks or months to implement in the past can now be implemented in less than a day. Let your security policies evolve over time without impacting your application code in any way. In most environments, not all security policies are defined during implementation, rules change, and new legislation is introduced which can mean you need to be able to rapidly implement new security policies with minimal effort, ASL*Secure is designed to hit these kinds of issues head on.”
