NoInk Inks Deal With Rehabilicare

06/08/2004

NoInk Communications, a provider of integrated handheld and Web-based software for the medical industry, was chosen to provide sales force automation solutions to Rehabilicare, a maker of home-use electrotherapy devices and a division of Compex Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMPX). NoInk says its solutions are “being integrated across Rehabilicare’s medical sales force to drive efficiencies in the ordering, inventory and contact management processes.”

NoInk provided these details:

Rehabilicare recently deployed NoInk’s mobile technology to 15 of its field sales representatives and managers for a pilot program. Once the test phase is complete, the company will roll out NoInk’s solutions to its more than 60 employee sales reps. The Tablet PC applications will allow the company to better track and service its field inventory which is stocked across 6,000 nationwide physical therapy clinic and physician office locations.

“From a sales force perspective, we consider NoInk to be an insurance policy that allows us to maintain a consistently high level of service to our customers,” said Michael Goodpaster, vice president of sales operations for Rehabilicare. “Because our sales reps are spread across the United States and meet with hundreds of physicians and physical therapists every day, we needed a way to capture the intellectual capital of each sales rep and every sales call. NoInk’s technology allows us to standardize the recording and tracking of extensive physician and clinic information. In addition, the NoInk solution allows us to disseminate information from our legacy system so that our sales force can utilize it to provide more personalized service to our customers.

“We explored many options before choosing NoInk. Their proven medical industry technologies and willingness to further customize their solutions to meet the specific needs of Rehabilicare kept them at the top of a very short list,” commented Goodpaster.

Rehabilicare selected NoInk’s solutions in an effort to strengthen customer relationships, improve reporting capabilities back to sales reps in the field, capture more detailed information about customers and prospects, increase administrative efficiency and improve inventory tracking. The company also plans to use NoInk’s technology to gain a competitive edge by using a company-wide electronic system to improve the ordering and verification processes. This will help reduce the costs and administrative time associated with paper-based systems.

“We partnered with NoInk because we wanted to create a unified field automation system across our organization,” said Dan W. Gladney, president and chief executive officer of Rehabilicare. “With NoInk’s technology we can generate orders and track inventory electronically. In addition, the technology will help reduce the amount of paperwork processed by our third party billing operation, reducing processing errors and accelerating billings. This means we can provide better customer service while achieving growth expectations.”

In addition to licensing NoInk’s Web-based sales force automation (SFA) software, Rehabilicare’s reps are also running applications on Tablet PCs in the field. Rehabilicare is using NoInk’s account inventory management, order management and document management applications. Additionally, NoInk is helping the medical device company integrate and synchronize data between the SFA database and Rehabilicare’s corporate network. This will provide Rehabilicare with real-time access to field information, a central repository for enterprise-level data and permanent historic records of all corporate sales activities.

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
