PlanView Embeds Biz Objects Views Into Offerings

PlanView, Inc., a provider of portfolio management and corporate IT governance solutions, has achieved Platinum Level status in the Business Objects Partner Program. Through an expanded alliance agreement, PlanView has embedded powerful data analysis and reporting tools from Business Objects into its IT project portfolio management software, enabling PlanView to offer customers increased visibility into project management and IT governance processes, PlanView says.

It offered these details:

"PlanView and Business Objects share a common goal of delivering solutions that ultimately help companies improve enterprise performance," said Wyatt Mullin, director of worldwide OEM for Business Objects. "By leveraging the robust query, reporting and analysis capabilities of Business Objects, the integrated solution enables PlanView's customers to make even better informed decisions about how to get the greatest business impact from their IT initiatives using a user-friendly business intelligence toolset."

A major global software company is among the customers already benefiting from an integrated PlanView and Business Objects solution. As a result, this company is able to tap into PlanView's Scorecard Datamart and perform powerful analyses that are used to effectively manage resources, improve productivity and cut costs. By automating the company's Dashboard and Resource Utilization Reports, the company will save more than 4,420 man-hours per year.

"Our customers realize that the value of an enterprise-wide portfolio management solution is the ability to quickly access and make sense out of large amounts of time, resources and investment data, which leads to greater clarity when making critical business decisions," said PlanView business development director Tony Elkins. "The integration of PlanView and Business Objects solutions gives our users significant business intelligence functionality with the ability to tailor their individual views of information. The result is that customers have the powerful analysis tools and flexibility they need to more effectively manage resources and improve productivity."
