Segue, PeopleSoft In Accord

04/07/2004

Segue Software (NASDAQ-SCM: SEGU), a provider of enterprise reliability solutions, announced a worldwide agreement with PeopleSoft (NASDAQ: PSFT) allowing PeopleSoft Global Services to utilize Segue’s SilkPerformer and SilkVision products in the provision of services at customer sites. The Segue products are designed to optimize PeopleSoft applications and provide customers with control and visibility of their PeopleSoft implementations.

Segue offered the following details:

“Today’s announcement highlights a marked expansion over our existing relationship with PeopleSoft as a member of its partner program. PeopleSoft customers will now be able to benefit from Segue’s products combined with PeopleSoft’s consulting expertise and best practices,” said Rohit Gupta, vice president for strategic alliances, Segue Software.

SilkPerformer can accurately model demanding and complex business environments and simulate the stress presented by up to tens of thousands of concurrent users in pre-production. In production environments, SilkVision can actively monitor the health of PeopleSoft pure Internet applications and related systems infrastructure. The worldwide agreement between Segue and PeopleSoft allows mutual customers to gain from an enhanced testing process designed to improve quality and deployment time, pinpoint problems quickly and accurately, monitor reliability 24x7x365 and optimize the performance of PeopleSoft applications.

“PeopleSoft forms relationships with proven technology leaders to deliver tangible business benefits throughout the enterprise. We’ve chosen Segue Software based on their strong products and dedication to customers and partners,” said Susan Hutt, vice president of practice initiatives, PeopleSoft Global Services. “Our consulting team uses Segue products in the delivery of our Performance Monitoring and Performance Testing service offerings and over a dozen customers have already enjoyed the benefit of this service offering.”

As part of the agreement, PeopleSoft and Segue Software conducted a jointly developed, comprehensive training program for PeopleSoft consultants around the globe. In addition to Segue’s commitment to training PeopleSoft consultants, this joint program gives PeopleSoft access to Segue’s training materials to assist in developing its own internal training programs.

SilkPerformer is an enterprise-class load-testing tool. With the ability to simulate thousands of users working with multiple protocols and computing environments, SilkPerformer allows users to predict the behavior of an enterprise's application environment before it is deployed, regardless of size and complexity. Visual customization, visual content verification under load, real-time performance monitors and powerful management reports help isolate problems quickly - accelerating time to market and ensuring system reliability by minimizing test cycles, optimizing performance and assuring scalability.

SilkVision is a Web-based monitoring solution that allows enterprises to manage the performance and reliability of their mission-critical business applications from the end-user perspective. With its ability to define complex business transactions and correlate those results with information obtained from any tier of the application infrastructure, SilkVision provides a thorough picture of the system being monitored. Based on a tight integration with Segue’s core technologies, SilkVision is able to reuse complex test cases developed during pre-deployment testing as monitors without applying any changes to them. In a similar fashion, a monitor representing a faulty user transaction scenario can be fed back into development and expanded into a test scenario. This improves cooperation between the pre-deployment testing and post-deployment operations teams that contribute to ensuring the on-going reliability and quality-of-service of enterprise business applications.
