03/02/2004

Voyence Inc., a provider of enterprise network configuration management solutions, has joined the IBM PartnerWorld Program for developers, and will integrate its flagship product, VoyenceControl! with IBM’s e-business on demand and pervasive computing portfolio of products. The first phase of this partnership has resulted in integration between VoyenceControl! and IBM’s Tivoli Enterprise Console.

VoyenceControl! “automates network planning, design, deployment and change management processes to increase network availability and improve security,” Voyence explains. “The Tivoli Enterprise Console manages networks of any size and enables automatic network discovery as well as root-cause problem analysis through targeted network views. When integrated, VoyenceControl! automatically notifies Tivoli when changes to network devices occur, which dramatically reduces the mean time to repair by ensuring network engineers, auditors and operators are always in the know and have access to critical network configuration information. Taking control of the network down to the device level ensures that the IT organization can become proactive to meet business needs and priorities.”

"By integrating configuration management functionality with Tivoli, our joint customers are able to maintain greater control over their networks and virtually eliminate network outages attributable to manual configuration errors," said Susan Nash, president and CEO at Voyence. "This is the first of many ways IBM and Voyence will work together to optimize network management and help IT organizations deliver on demand services."

“VoyenceControl! improves the effectiveness of network management systems such as IBM’s Tivoli Enterprise Console, by informing these solutions of configuration changes that can negatively impact the network,” Voyence says. “This integration, combined with VoyenceControl!’s event notification functionality, enables organizations to proactively address network configuration issues that can impact network availability and security.

In addition to the technology integration initiatives described in this release, Voyence and IBM Global Services are working together to provide customers with professional implementation and integration services in support of their complementary products.
