Message From Arjuna: We’ve Upgraded Our Messaging Middleware

07/28/2003

Arjuna Technologies, a developer of standards-based middleware, has debuted Arjuna Message Service (ArjunaMS) 3.0. With this release, Arjuna asserts it has "raised the bar for cost-effective, full-featured, standards-compliant, enterprise-class messaging solutions.

Developed from the former Hewlett-Packard Message Service (HP-MS), ArjunaMS "provides the advanced security, scalability, and management features that are required for serious enterprise deployments and delivers quality performance for outstanding value, the vendor says.

"Enterprises continue to seek cost-effective ways to improve the reliability of mission-critical applications," said Steve Caughey, CEO for Arjuna Technologies. "ArjunaMS addresses this issue by providing an enterprise class messaging solution for $1000 per CPU. ArjunaMS delivers on features, performance and cost and is supported by a world-class development team."

Bob Kunz, R&D Manager at Hewlett-Packard said, "HP's Managed Print Service allows organizations to reduce the total cost of ownership of their printing infrastructure while providing key tools and processes to manage their printing resources. ArjunaMS is used to provide secure and reliable Arjuna challenges messaging vendors with the release of ArjunaMS 3.0 messaging infrastructure between HP's back end systems and the customer site. ArjunaMS delivers the message. Arjuna has provided first class support to HP throughout the development and rollout of the MPS system, reacting to our particular requirements with responsive support and customized product enhancements."

David Ingham, CTO at Arjuna said "ArjunaMS 3.0 is an exciting product release from Arjuna and throws down a challenge to other vendors in the space to provide truly cost effective solutions. ArjunaMS is full featured including the XAResource API to guarantee end-to-end transactional integrity of mission critical data, full support for JMS1.1, and massive performance improvements over the previous release. ArjunaMS also forms the foundation for the forthcoming Arjuna Enterprise Service Bus (ArjunaESB) product which provides a complete platform for the integration of Web services and enterprise systems."

AS DESCRIBED BY ARJUNA, enhancements to ArjunaMS in version 3.0 include:

· Complete implementation of the latest JMS 1.1 standard including support for XA-based distributed transactioning for end-to-end integrity and full application server integration (ASF). · Fast performance and great scalability with optimized client-server message transport protocols. Massive performance improvement over previous release. · Inbuilt application container allows application code to run as MDBlike services inside the message server itself. Reduces programming overhead, simplifies lifecycle management, and maximizes performance and reliability. · Extended server administration protocols now allow cross-firewall administration using HTTP and HTTPS (with proxy support)

ArjunaMS 3.0 is available immediately and is priced at $1000 per CPU for both development and deployment. License includes 12 months free customer support, comprising on-line forum access, regular maintenance packs and version upgrades. Full business-level support including 24x7 coverage is also available.
