Union Enhances Data Analytics and Warehousing with Real-time Visual Analysis and Monitoring

Kognitio, a leading global provider of business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing solutions, today announced that it has signed a technology partnership agreement with Panopticon Software, the leading provider of data visualization software for the monitoring and fast analysis of real-time data.

ebizQ received the following:

Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Kognitio will add Panopticon’s visual analysis software to its portfolio of front-end business intelligence applications that are supported and offered with Kognitio’s WX2 analytical database.

Organizations from a wide cross-section of industries use Panopticon’s visual data monitoring and analysis software tools to speed up business processes, reduce operational and investment risks, defect anomalies, such as fraudulent activity, and identify opportunities to increase profits and sales. By partnering with Panopticon, Kognitio can now offer more choice to its client base who have implemented WX2 and allow them to improve their analytical and warehousing activities further through the fast visualization and monitoring of data.

“Panopticon is the data visualization system on the market that can handle real-time feeds and large data sets that our clients need to help manage their businesses,” commented Roger Llewellyn, CEO and President at Kognitio. “The combination of our WX2 analytical database and their visual analytics tools empowers us to offer much more than with competing solutions. WX2 can handle very large data volumes which makes it an excellent fit for BI applications. The addition of Panopticon’s dashboard technology to our implementations will provide our clients with the visibility they need to analyze and respond quickly to opportunities and problems that can affect their bottom lines. We’re very excited about the prospects and our established clients — particularly in financial services and telecoms — have already expressed encouraging interest in adding these new data visualization tools to their systems.”

“Kognitio has incredible expertise in implementing large and sophisticated data analytics and data warehousing systems for clients across a wide spectrum of industries,” commented Chris Elsmore, SVP Partners and Channels Worldwide at Panopticon. “Their technology in the form of the WX2 database is extremely impressive as well, and Panopticon is a perfect fit for the types of projects Kognitio specializes in for major corporate customers. The addition of Kognitio to our partner network is a major strategic advantage for us.”

Kognitio’s WX2 is used globally by companies across a wide range of established and emerging industries, such as telecommunications, biogenomics, consumer packaged goods, retail, media, marketing, financial services and utilities. It enables them to analyze and gain insights from multiple terabytes of information within seconds or minutes, instead of the hours, days or longer required by legacy database products.

Kognitio has architected its WX2 RDBMS to enable the industry’s widest range of installation options; the software can be licensed on a global capacity basis, or incorporated in a data warehouse appliance that is built on commodity-based hardware instead of costly proprietary hardware. WX2 is also at the heart of Kognitio’s pioneering Data Warehousing as a Service (DaaS) offering, which allows firms to rapidly implement and derive answers from data on an outsourced basis, at a fraction of the cost and time it would take for a company to buy and install the needed hardware and software.

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
