The platform provides Microsoft SharePoint users the tools to create and share code-free Enterprise Mashups built from internal and external enterprise data sources. Mashup Sites for SharePoint gives users a real-time, secure view into enterprise data without having to leave their SharePoint environment.
"SharePoint's incredible growth has meant increased productivity and collaboration to many organizations but has also resulted in distributed communities with islands of data. Mashup Sites for SharePoint allows end users to use and share data no matter where it lives, while still letting IT govern and secure that data," said Danny Ryan, VP of Business Development at ThreeWill, a Microsoft Managed Gold Partner. "We're extremely excited about this because it gives us additional opportunities to help our customers' with their secure data access requirements."
The visual mashup-creation tools of Mashup Sites for SharePoint let business users mashup internal and external enterprise data sources from within the SharePoint environment. The mashup-publishing features let users share their efforts with trusted peers as native SharePoint WebParts or as standard web applications. Mashup Sites for SharePoint also includes integrated NTLM single sign-on to ensure the safety and security of the users and the mashups they make and share.
“Mashup Sites for SharePoint raises the bar on ease-of-use and self-service access to enterprise data, with easy tools for non-developers to securely create and share dynamic mashups from disconnected enterprise data sources,” said Dan Malks, VP of App Platform Engineering at JackBe and co-author of Core J2EE Patterns.“And we are really emphasizing business user empowerment by letting users do their work within an environment in which they are most comfortable: SharePoint.”
