The Only Suite of Web BI Applications to Enable Relevant, Self-Service BI on Top of Any Data

Panorama Software, a global leader in proactive Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced the release of NovaView 6.2, the newest iteration of its flagship suite of web-enabled BI applications.

ebizQ received the following:

Along with its other improvements, NovaView 6.2 breaks new and exciting ground as the first BI vendor to offer native connectivity and extending Microsoft’s new in-memory engine, PowerPivot, as well as tight integration with Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010. Oracle connectivity is another key addition to the available data sources, making Oracle relational DB data instantly available for interactive, multi-dimensional analysis with the entire NovaView product stack.

“NovaView 6.2 brings new innovations to the world of BI and data analysis, as well as new levels of functionality and enterpriseability to the new Microsoft BI platform,” said Eynav Azarya, CEO Panorama Software. “PowerPivot is a paradigm change in the world of BI, and with the value added by Panorama for PowerPivot we have a compelling offering that can change the way organizations consume, analyze and disseminate information. The new version represents another huge step in the shifting paradigm towards self-service BI.”

NovaView Version 6.2 features three new modules:

  • Panorama NovaView for PowerPivot: Microsoft PowerPivot is the ultimate in-memory BI platform. Panorama Software is the first company to natively connect and provide a complete suite of self-service BI applications on top of Microsoft’s new in-memory platform.

Panorama NovaView 6.2 adds unique self-service BI capabilities like intuitive web interface, advanced analytics and a data level security layer on top of PowerPivot, elevating it to a complete BI solution and making it ready for enterprise-wide deployment.

  • Integration with Office 2010 / SharePoint 2010: With NovaView 6.2, Panorama Software offers new, powerful capabilities that leverage Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010. With one click of a button, users can drill from Excel to Panorama NovaView for deeper, web-based analysis and can even deploy the same powerful analysis to the SharePoint 2010 portal.
  • This connectivity opens up new opportunities to create a seamless back and forth flow between Excel and NovaView. Users can keep using Excel as a key part of the BI process, without experiencing any limitations on advanced analysis like web-based reporting, dashboarding and data visualization.

NovaView for Office 2010 and NovaView Spotlight bring live insights directly to the MS Office desktop products making mission critical figures closer than ever to the information worker.

  • New Optimization for Oracle as a Data Source: NovaView 6.2 includes an optimized Universal Data Connector model for Oracle data sources, enabling automatic generation of time hierarchies for immediate analysis and delivering Oracle relational database data for instant analysis with the entire NovaView product stack.

"NovaView offers end-to-end BI delivery, and it does it quite well. Panorama has clearly used its deep knowledge of OLAP and MDX to produce some of the very best delivery options on the market today. Businesses that are looking to extend their existing Microsoft data warehouse and BI solutions or make PowerPivot enterprise-ready should strongly consider NovaView" says Derek Comingore, Microsoft SQL Server MVP, "If you’re in the market for a third-party toolset to add functionality to Microsoft’s BI tools, your search is over."

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
