Software AG Maintains #1 Worldwide Ranking in SOA Governance Technologies

Software AG today announced its leadership position in delivering service-oriented architecture (SOA) Governance technologies to the marketplace.

ebizQ received the following:

According to Gartner, Inc., a leading industry analyst firm, Software AG ranks #1 in worldwide SOA Governance market share. As a whole, the SOA Governance market experienced robust growth in 2009 despite a global recession, expanding 17.5 percent, states Gartner. The ranking, based on total software revenue in 2009, represents the second consecutive year in which Software AG is listed by Gartner as the global market leader in SOA Governance.

Also in 2009, Gartner positioned Software AG in the Leaders Quadrant for Integrated SOA Governance Technologies[2] Magic Quadrant.

“Growth in the SOA Governance market not only confirms that SOA adoption has become mainstream, but that governance is essential to achieving the maximum value from SOA. We believe Software AG’s continued leadership position in SOA Governance reflects customers’ desire to partner with a strong, but platform-neutral vendor for SOA infrastructure solutions,” said Dr. Peter Kürpick, Chief Product Officer and Member of the Executive Board, Software AG. "Software AG’s customer base includes major industries across the spectrum of SOA adoption—from those just beginning their SOA journey to large, mature SOA programs.”

Software AG provides a complete technology platform for SOA Governance—from development-time lifecycle management to run-time service access mediation, monitoring, and management. Its flagship product, CentraSite, is the business service repository for both SOA and Business Process Management (BPM) programs to manage IT assets such as services, processes, and data across their lifecycles. CentraSite is complemented by the world’s largest SOA Governance partner community, which includes more than 60 partners that integrate and interoperate with CentraSite.

CentraSite eliminates rework, assures consistent quality, and makes project adoption both easier and consistent with architectural standards, helping accelerate SOA deployment across the enterprise. Representing the industry’s most comprehensive SOA Governance and lifecycle management platform, CentraSite gives IT the optimal balance between agility and control for SOA by automating governance processes, including quality assurance, consumer on-boarding, and change management.

“Strong demand for SOA Governance solutions, even during a global recession, is a clear indicator of the fact that Governance addresses people, processes, and technology in order to maximize the value of SOA,” Dr. Kürpick added. “Software AG’s continued leadership in the SOA Governance marketplace illustrates our passion to deliver best-in-class products, best-practices, and a wealth of expertise to customers worldwide.”

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
