In partnering with F5, an application delivery networking vendor, Layer 7 is delivering enhanced service provider-grade SOA delivery assurance for enterprises. By optimizing its XML Gateway to leverage the security and high-availability features of F5 BIG-IP solutions, Layer 7 provides optimum uptime for globally distributed Web services. Together, Layer 7 and F5 technologies also improve automated service provisioning capabilities, enabling organizations to move toward successfully implementing dynamic infrastructures.
“The combination of Layer 7 and F5 technologies gives application service providers several industry-first delivery capabilities to meet their SOA assurance needs,” said Phil Walston, vice president of product management for Layer 7. “These capabilities include enhanced denial of service and rate limiting functionality, XML affinity, session persistence and centralized SSL offload, as well as seamless service registration. Service providers will be able to deliver value-added applications with solid, enforceable Service Level Agreements from the transport layer all the way up to the API.”
“Working with Layer 7, F5 helps organizations meet their rigorous SOA security and availability needs more seamlessly,” said Mark Vondemkamp, director of product management, security at F5. “The combination gives large enterprises new options for optimizing the delivery of their REST- and SOAP-based application services.”
