The latest release of Fidelis XPS includes the following features:

  • SharePoint Decoder: Fidelis XPS helps to mitigate the risk of data leakage by bringing content-awareness to traffic flowing to and from SharePoint servers within an organization. As the use of document and content management systems such as SharePoint has become more pervasive within today’s enterprises, so too has the need to ensure the security of sensitive information posted to and shared from these destinations. Fidelis XPS provides the unique ability to understand SharePoint network communications, providing visibility and control to the content and extracting certain attributes of the session.
  • Policy Tuning Wizard: Fidelis XPS’s new “Tune Rule” wizard is an interface that guides the user through the steps to modify policy quickly and easily, and deploy updates at the push of a button, lowering the cost of rule maintenance and tuning. When reviewing the details of an alert, the user can create a policy exception based on the attributes of the current alert, such as application, or location. Policy tuning and reduction of false positives can be addressed by adding or removing attributes, or creating an exception to the rule. Policy exceptions can be based on most channel and location attributes of an alert.
  • Updated PCI and HIPAA Pre-Built Policy Packs Organizations use Fidelis XPS to enforce policies to help them comply with federal and state privacy laws regarding identity information such as credit card or medical data. To be truly secure, organizations must go beyond the basic compliance requirements and become diligent about the ongoing process of assessment, remediation, and reporting, to incorporate this process into their security best practices. Using content-aware DLP as a highly effective component of an overall security strategy makes not only regulatory compliance achievable, but additional network security benefits are gained. New and updated pre-built policies include:
    • Enhanced rules to protect individually identifiable health information per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and reinforced by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) provisions, by detecting transfers of medical records, prescription drug information, or medical account numbers with personal identity information.
    • Enhanced rules to protect credit card information as defined by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard by detecting transfers of credit card transaction information such as credit card numbers, names, addresses and magnetic stripe data.

“With the latest release of our award-winning data leakage prevention solution, Fidelis XPS is again giving enterprises more options and enhanced features to gain the ultimate benefit of managing the information flowing on their network and the protection of their most valued information from the damage of data leakage,” said Peter George, President and CEO, Fidelis Security Systems. “Since our founding in 2002, Fidelis Security Systems has won significant awards for both our product and technology innovation. This release once again illustrates how Fidelis XPS provides our customers not only the best solution to secure their protected information, but the ability to achieve these results with great value.”

Quick Guide: What is Enterprise 2.0?

A lot of people are talking about Enterprise 2.0 as being the business application of Web 2.0 technology. However, there's still some debate on exactly what this technology entails, how it applies to today's business models, and which components bring true value. Some use the term Enterprise 2.0 exclusively to describe the use of social networking technologies in the enterprise, while others use it to describe a web economy platform, or the technological framework behind such a platform. Still others say that Enterprise 2.0 is all of these things. Learn More
