Government Service Company Turns to Business Process Management to Support JobCentre Plus



Appian, the global innovator in enterprise and on-demand business process management (BPM) technology, today announced that Pinnacle People, a specialist business focused on providing services to the UK Government, helping unemployed people get back to work, have deployed the Appian BPM Suite to enhance delivery on new and existing contracts. Appian’s work with Pinnacle People went from start to Phase 1 production go-live in only 20 days.

Pinnacle People are the prime contractor to DWP for the delivery of the JobCentre Plus Support Contracts (worth £16 million over five years) in two UK regions, which will provide a range of employability and vocational modules and resources to help people return to work. Pinnacle People selected Appian after a thorough vendor evaluation, which was conducted over eight months. The evaluation process involved initial meetings, an RFP Response and an onsite Proof of Concept.

The Appian BPM Suite is being used to manage the end to end contract delivery and also support HR, Finance and Supply Chain functions and processes. There are currently over 2.5 million people out of work in the UK. Pinnacle People's remit is to support JobCentre Plus by providing employment-focused training programmes for 4,000 people a month, as well as direct placement of people into work as part of the Flexible New Deal. Pinnacle will leverage Appian’s real-time analytics to provide their staff with access to program success rates at critical decision points in the process, empowering them to select the right personalised approach and improving the quality of service to the customer. Looking to the future, Pinnacle People are migrating their existing business lines into Appian to create an enterprise solution that underpins their entire business as well as future business growth.
