Champion Solutions Group Launches Champion Cloud Services Division

12/15/2009

New Consulting Services Division will Help Clients Reduce Costs and Increase Productivity with Holistic Cloud-based Solutions Mapped to Business Needs

Champion Solutions Group, a leading IT services delivery provider, today launched Champion Cloud Services, a new division that will offer consulting services to help companies leverage cloud computing to more efficiently deliver IT services to end users.

ebizQ received the following:

Champion Cloud Services employs a unique holistic approach that factors in the goals and objectives of the business as well as IT considerations to determine and implement the right cloud-based solution for each individual client.

Champion Cloud Services expert consultants will enable clients to improve business productivity and reduce costs by taking advantage of cloud computing. Champion’s cloud technology specialists assess each client’s existing environment and application workload, determine if an application is a good fit for the cloud, and if an internal on-premise cloud, a public cloud or a hybrid mix is the best approach. They then architect the optimum solution and manage the migration of applications, data and users to the cloud.

“A cloud-based solution can enable companies to cost-effectively ensure high availability and reliability for end user applications, especially if they support mobile workers, telecommuters or field based teams,” commented Chris Pyle, president and CEO of Champion Solutions Group. “The challenge facing most companies today is how to go about implementing a cloud-based solution. If you have 2500 users and 15 years worth of data, how do you move the users and data seamlessly without disrupting the business? How do you determine latency tolerance, and do regression and stress testing in the cloud? We’re the experts that can help.” “With over 30 years experience delivering IT solutions to more than 650 clients, and more than a thousand implementations of virtualized IT environments, we have a deep pool of knowledge and expertise to draw from,” continued Pyle. “We recognize that our clients have made significant investments in their existing environments. Our solutions are architected to protect that investment by incorporating the cloud into their existing infrastructure. Our holistic ‘next practices’ approach also ensures that our solutions align with each client’s business needs so they derive the most value from the cloud.”

About the Champion Cloud Services Offerings

Champion Cloud Services offerings focus on educating clients about cloud computing, evaluating and architecting solutions incorporating the cloud, and facilitating cloud adoption. Some of their unique service offerings include:

  • Cloud Readiness Assessment: Champion Cloud Services will perform a full application workload assessment of the applications that could be moved to the cloud. Expert consultants will recommend a development strategy and an appropriate cloud deployment target such as Champion's “Platform on Demand”, an enterprise-class, Internet-optimized managed cloud computing platform, or Microsoft Online Services, a Private Cloud, or a Hybrid.
  • Proof of Concept/Trial Deployment: Champion Cloud Services will build a cloud environment for the selected applications. Technical experts will work with client IT teams to perform integration, stress/load, and regression testing to ensure that the move to the cloud is smooth and produces the expected results.
  • Production Migration: Champion Cloud Services will perform the actual production and/or application server migration to the Cloud target.
  • Champion Infrastructure Design Service: Cloud experts will help customers focus on extreme density, power efficiency, cost, reliability and manageability initiatives. This also addresses scale-out compute, storage, data center and Platform on Demand designs.
Champion Cloud Services will also offer training, seminars and workshops to educate companies on the cloud and how it fits into multi-sourcing service delivery strategies, on the benefits, risks and implications of the cloud within the business, and best practices for using the cloud as part of a comprehensive IT and business strategy.
