DPC is the principal government agency in South Australia for organizing and effectuating programs and policies. In preparing submissions and notes for policy briefings, DPC’s Cabinet Office handles a massive amount of paper covering legal analysis to engineering documents to citizen concerns. The Electronic Cabinet Online System creates a foundation for correspondence management, action tracking, project management and collaboration across all levels of government. It has saved the government millions in printing and filing costs, and has help DPC meet regulations and objectives for greener government operations.

Jointly sponsored by BPMFocus.org and Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) with support from industry associations Object Management Group (OMG) and BPM.com, the annual Global Excellence Awards in BPM and Workflow is in its 16th year. These awards recognize organizations such as the Department of the Premier and Cabinet for pushing the limits of BPM innovation and implementation.

The Gold Award was announced and presented to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet in a special webinar on Tuesday 24 November, 2009. The webinar was chaired by Derek Miers, lead judge for the awards.

Other BizFlow customers that have won the Global Excellence Awards include Samsung, KT Freetel, Nong Shim, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, and the Korea Ministry of Labor.

“The ECO project is a great example of how organizations can meet requirements for greater efficiency and security while delivering greener operations,” says Garth Knudson, managing director of International Sales and Alliances. “All the team from HandySoft and our partners Redman Solutions and Brabham Consulting are excited and proud of how BizFlow has delivered real value to DPC in overall efficiency and green thinking. BizFlow is proven to push the boundaries of BPM into dynamic tasking, correspondence management and now business intelligence.”

“We are excited about our customer successes”, says Harry Clarke, CEO of HandySoft. “Whether it’s DPC winning the 2009 Gold Prize or the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission winning the Gartner 2009 BizFlow Excellence Award, we feel that all of our customers get tremendous value from using BizFlow. The more we work with our customers, the more impressed we are with their commitment to process excellence.”
